Heaven starts now.
In the book of Romans, there is a verse that says, “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9 ESV)
This is a foundational verse for the Christian faith because it tells us how to be saved. But do we really know all of what saved means? Are we just saved from something? Does it only affect our future or does it affect our present as well?
When we research the word “saved” in the Bible, we uncover that the word has many layers. The Greek word for saved is “sozo”, which contains a richer interpretation than the English translation. “Sozo” reveals the truth of what it means to not only be saved, but to live saved!
In this 5-week study, we are going to examine the meaning of “saved” and how we can live a “sozo” life. Our hope is that as we journey through this process together, we will discover what Jesus truly intended for us in salvation.
There is so much more to being saved than we think!
